OUR STORY
Match was an early pioneer of South Norwalk, opening on Washington Street in 1999 and helping to revitalize the now bustling SoNo neighborhood. Over the years, we’ve built a reputation as one of the state’s most beloved restaurants by dining critics and diners alike, who appreciate our consistency, culinary creativity, and fun atmosphere.
THE APPROACH
Our seasonal & globally influenced menu has been refined by owner and chef Matt Storch over the last 14 years. Matt uses classic worldly dishes and cooking techniques as the base and then twists them into the uniquely creative menu that changes daily. In addition to the beloved “Match classics,” we leverage the changing seasonal ingredients we source from nearby Connecticut farms to create dishes that excites every bud on your palate.
THE SPACE
The restaurant’s rustic urban design is defined by bold pops of our signature deep purple, dark walnut wood floor, exposed brick, antique wood surfaces, and bright white chairs throughout the dining room. Facing Washington Street, our front room is a cozy space for intimate dinners lit by a dramatic industrial-inspired chandelier made of pipe fittings and bare bulbs. A large and airy dining room stands at the heart of Match, with flexible seating between our two bars: our central bar is devoted to our popular craft cocktail program with a rear bar doubling as an intimate chefs table in front of the wood burning oven.
